Soror Tamar LaSure-Owens of Iota Chapter
Soror Tamar LaSure-Owens will be the first to receive the NJEA Urban Education Activist Award in January at the NJEA Equity Alliance Conference in Atlantic City. She was nominated by Soror Lateefah Scott of Iota Chapter. Additionally, she has also been selected to the NJEA Consortium for Representative Curriculum Design Sprint for Amistad, Holocaust, LGBTQ+ and Persons with Disabilities. A three-day training begun the first week in January. Lastly, due to the AMHOTINO Curriculum initiatives at Pleasantville Public Schools and AMHOTINO being a "state model" for Amistad curriculum, she was also selected for the NJEA REAL (Racial, Equity, Affirmation and Literacy) Team Six (RT6) Equity Organizers Training Program. Tamar LaSure-Owens, MSA, Delta Lambda Chapter
Delta Lambda's very own Tamar LaSure-Owens has received the first NJEA Urban Education Activist Award in January 2022 at the NJEA Equity Alliance Conference in Atlantic City. Soror Tamia Murphy, Iota Chapter
Iota Chapter's, Tamia Murphy, has been a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated since 2015. She has been an educator for 17 years, currently teaching at the Mastery Molina Upper in Camden, NJ. She believes "if I can make a difference in the life of at least one child, then my work will not be in vain." Read how she has made an impact on her students as noted by one of her students.

Soror Lisa Mims, Rho Chapter
Rho Chapter's, Lisa Mims, has been a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated since 2010. She has been an elementary educator for 35 years teaching for the Colonial Public School District in New Castle, Delaware.
